What's new in Bugggy

  1. v0.13.0

Bugggy on your phone, and new plans

Review, capture and record from iOS and Android, with plans that never charge per person.

    • ImprovedPins have a new shape everywhere: a coral bubble with its number, its square corner right on the spot. On websites the pin carries your workspace's bug.
    • NewThe Bugggy app for iOS and Android: your dashboard, projects, review mode with comments, drawing and sign-off, Compare, the board, notifications on your lock screen, and uploads from your photos.
    • NewCapture any web page from the app, staging and pages behind a login included. Long press to pin an element, select text to suggest an edit, shake or hold the mic to report, and Bugggy offers to report a tap that did nothing.
    • NewScreen recordings: record a page or another app, trim it, pin notes to moments and send it to the board, where it plays with a timeline of every tap, error and failed request.
    • NewBugggy notices what went wrong on the page as you comment: console errors, failed requests, rage taps and taps that did nothing, shown on the card.
    • NewA quick accessibility check of what's in view with every website comment: a teaser on every plan, the full list on Agency.
    • NewAI summaries and suggested tags on website comments, a click to apply.
    • NewPublic feedback on Pro: let anyone visiting your site send feedback, anonymously or with an email to hear when it's fixed.
    • NewBefore a screenshot goes, Bugggy points out what looks private (passwords, card numbers, emails, phone numbers) to blur, black out or leave.
    • ImprovedNew plans: Core $27, Pro $67, Agency $697 and Enterprise, all with unlimited people, workspaces and projects. Storage, AI actions and bandwidth each have a monthly allowance and a slider for more. See /pricing.
    • NewKeeping times for recordings, per account, workspace or project, asking before any are removed.
  2. v0.12.0

    Web capture

Comments on a live site, left right on the page, straight into the board.

    • NewMark up a site comment's screenshot on the board: open the card and the same tools are down its left, saved with the comment and shown on its screenshot back on the site.
    • ImprovedMarkup says when it's saved: "Saving…", then "Saved at" the time, beside the tools, in review mode, Compare and the board.
    • ImprovedOpening a board card is Triage mode, framed in coral like review mode and Web capture, with the screenshot on the same light stage.
    • NewUpload screens from the end of a flow in review mode, beside New blank canvas, and add a canvas from the end of any flow on the project page. Either opens straight into review mode.
    • ImprovedStepping between screens in review mode is quicker: the screens either side are ready before you get there, and the glide is shorter.
    • FixedA blank canvas is the same size as the round's screens, so the frame no longer jumps when you step from one to the other.
    • FixedDrawings show on every thumbnail of their screen, in review mode's strip, on the flow page and on the project page, so a canvas you drew on no longer looks blank.
    • ImprovedThe breadcrumb only shortens when it runs into what's beside it, and shows a crumb in full when you point at it.
    • ImprovedThe board's card drawer has fields and buttons the same size as the rest of Bugggy.
    • NewBlank canvases: add a fresh page, phone or browser sized, to a round to sketch, stamp and comment on, from review mode, the flow page or Compare. Canvases never need approving.
    • NewDraw while capturing a site: the same pen, shapes, stamps and stickers, sent with your next comment over its screenshot, or on a blank canvas of their own.
    • ImprovedReview mode arrives with the screens dealt in left to right and the tools popping out, glides from screen to screen, and every tool is a circle. Clear your markup in one go, and mark up in Compare too.
    • NewMark up a screen in review mode: draw with a pen or highlighter, add arrows, boxes and ellipses, type a note, stamp an emoji or stick on a label or a pixel bug. Everyone on the round sees it, and anyone can hide it.
    • ImprovedThe Dashboard is home for everyone, guests included, and the logo takes you back to it. What's on it depends on what you do: reviewers see the projects waiting for them with a Review button into each, then Reviewed once they've had their say. A link to a round still opens the round.
    • NewChange your login email from Profile: a code goes to the new address, and your old one is told.
    • NewSecurity, under Account: how you log in, and every device you're logged in on, with a way to log out any of them.
    • NewDelete your account from Profile, once any workspace you own is handed over.
    • NewAdd storage on top of any plan, on a slider in 10 GB steps, from Storage.
    • ImprovedWorkspace settings are their own section, from the workspace switcher: general, brands, approvals, archive and export, white label and integrations (ToDidIt is there), for the workspace that's open.
    • ImprovedAccount settings, under your picture, is about you and your account: profile, security, notifications and tokens, then plan and billing, storage and your workspaces.
    • ImprovedBilling is off the dashboard. Your plan is on Plan and billing, and storage has its own page.
    • NewStorage lists deleted workspaces and archived projects with the space each takes. Delete one for good to free it now; Bugggy asks again first.
    • NewDrop an image from your desktop onto a screen to replace it, in review mode or on the flow page. In a draft it changes that round; once the round is sent, it becomes the screen's next version in a new round (v1.1 to v1.2), and Bugggy opens it.
    • NewConnect ToDidIt: sign in with ToDidIt from Account, pick a workspace, and every board here runs in ToDidIt too. Each card is a task with its screenshot; moving, finishing, editing, assigning and replying on either side does the same on the other.
    • NewBoard columns follow your ToDidIt workspace's columns, in its order, and adding, renaming, moving or deleting one on either side changes both.
    • NewPrivate comments stay in Bugggy unless a project chooses to send them to ToDidIt.
    • NewNew projects start by choosing what they review: Web capture, for comments on a live site, or Uploads, for screens and Figma frames.
    • NewSet up Web capture: add one script to your site, then Connect my site checks it's working and shows you how to start capturing.
    • NewMore ways to add the script: Google Tag Manager, a WordPress plugin with your key already in it, site builder settings, or send the steps to your developer by email.
    • NewCapturing opens a full form over the site, like BugHerd's: the comment, the screenshot taken at your click, severity and tags, and for the team the column, assignee and due date.
    • ImprovedThe pin is your workspace's bug in a coral teardrop, with its point exactly where you clicked, on the page and in the screenshot.
    • NewEvery captured comment is confirmed in a panel on the site: the screenshot, what you said, when, on which page, and its card on the board.
    • NewClick a pin on your site to open its comment in a panel: who left it, when, its screenshot, where it is on the board, and its replies.
    • NewReply to a website comment from the pin on the site or from its card on the board. Both show the same thread.
    • NewEdit a captured comment from its pin: the words, severity and tags, and for the team its column, assignee and due date. Anyone who can capture can edit.
    • ImprovedCapturing something new while a pin's comment is open closes that panel first.
    • ImprovedEverything that saves by itself now says so: "Saving…", then "Saved at" the time with a check, which stays, or what went wrong. On the board, in an open card, beside names, descriptions and due dates, in notification and appearance settings, while customizing the home page and when reordering screens.
    • FixedChanges to a card's assignee, priority, title and labels show straight away instead of after the save, and go back if it fails. A few settings that failed without a word now say so.
    • ImprovedCapturing is much faster: the form opens the moment you click, and the screenshot is taken while you write. On pages with images further down, it took several seconds before.
    • NewDrag a pin on your site to move it, and delete a captured comment from its panel, with its replies and card.
    • NewEvery website bug has a title, and an optional description written in a simple editor: bold, italic, lists, links, and images and videos you add, drop or paste.
    • NewType @ in a bug's description or a reply, on the site or the board, to mention someone on the project. Team members are told in Bugggy and by email.
    • ImprovedTags in the capture form suggest the tags your board already uses as you type.
    • FixedWhile capturing, Bugggy's own buttons and pins show the normal pointer instead of the crosshair.
    • ImprovedEvery dropdown and date picker is Bugggy's own, in the app and in the capture form, instead of the browser's.
    • ImprovedTags in the capture form turn into chips when you press Tab, Enter or a comma, so you can keep typing the next one.
    • ImprovedAn opened card always shows the whole screenshot, and its panel has a clear edge against it.
    • NewOn your site, your workspace's bug waits in the corner: Start capturing? Click it (the first time, a three-second look at how it works) and capture mode frames the site in coral: click anything to comment, or hold Option to use the site as normal.
    • NewWeb capture: give a project your site's address and add one script tag to the site. It stays silent for visitors; reviewers who open the site through a review link get the Bugggy bar and comment by clicking what they mean.
    • NewEach comment carries a screenshot with the pin, the page, what was clicked, the browser and window size, and the reviewer, and lands in the board's Feedback column.
    • NewGuest links for clients: they give their name and email with their first comment, and need no account.
    • NewImport from BugHerd: choose the CSV BugHerd exports and each task comes in with its screenshot, page, device and who left it, in the board column that matches its status.
  3. v0.11.0

    Brand and white label

Your workspace's name and logo in front of your clients, and links on your own domain.

    • NewBrand and white label, in Account: upload your workspace's logo and show your name and logo instead of Bugggy's in the menu, on guest, invite and login pages, in the emails your workspace sends and on its PDF records. Part of Pro, and included in the trial.
    • NewAdd a square icon too. With white label on it stands in for your workspace's picture in the switcher and workspace lists, in the closed menu and on the browser tab.
    • NewUpload light and dark versions of your logo and icon. Dark mode shows the dark one, and without it the light one is used.
    • NewUse your own domain, such as review.yourcompany.com, for guest links, invites, shared PDFs and the links in your emails. Add two DNS records, check them, and it's on.
    • ImprovedChoosing a project's starter screen moves from the project header to a star on its first screen, which asks "Adjust starter screen?" until you pick one. Click the Starter badge to change it.
    • ImprovedNew flow and Upload screens move into the project's ⋯ menu, and sending a project for review is a send arrow that asks "Send for review?" when you point at it.
    • NewEveryone starts as one of Bugggy's pixel bugs, and so does every project and workspace, with a version for dark mode. Upload your own picture or choose a different bug: yours on Account, a project's on Edit project, a workspace's on Workspace settings.
    • ImprovedA new look: the "bugggy" wordmark, the coral g-bug as the app icon and favicon, and refreshed colors, with a deeper Ink page in dark mode.
    • NewKeep archived things for, in Workspace settings: archived projects, flows, screens and brands are kept forever unless an admin picks a period (30 days up to 2 years), after which they're deleted for good.
    • ImprovedGetting started is one checklist for your account rather than one per workspace: a step done in any of your workspaces counts, and dismissing it hides it everywhere.
    • ImprovedUndo is quieter: a light outline like the flow's action bar.
    • FixedProjects is marked in the menu while you're on it.
  4. v0.10.0

    Workspaces

One sign-in for every workspace you're in, and screens stored ready for hosting.

    • NewBelong to several workspaces with one email and switch between them at the top of the app. Your role can differ in each.
    • NewCreate a workspace from the switcher. You can own up to 3 free ones, and join as many as you're invited to.
    • NewA link to work in another of your workspaces opens that workspace, and each workspace has its own address.
    • NewThe owner can hand a workspace over to another admin, and anyone else can leave one. Their comments and approvals stay on the record.
    • NewThe bell shows what's new in all your workspaces, and a daily digest is one email for all of them.
    • NewA workspace's owner can delete it, and restore it for 30 days afterwards.
    • NewBrands belong to each workspace. A new one starts with none: add as many as you like from a project's brand picker or Workspace settings, where admins can rename and archive them.
    • FixedYour account page counts the workspaces you own correctly, and opens any of them.
    • NewChoose what removing does in each workspace: archive things so they can be restored, or delete them for good. You pick when you make the workspace, and admins can change it in Workspace settings.
    • NewDrag a screen to another flow on a project page, onto the spot you want or onto the flow's name in the list.
    • NewGive a workspace a picture. It shows in the switcher.
    • NewAn approved flow puts its PDF up front: download it from the project page, or share it. Pick people in the workspace or type any email address, and each person gets their own download link that needs no account.
    • NewA Dashboard, first in the menu: what needs you now, where each project stands, the board backlog, workspace health and your account's plan. In more than one workspace, an All workspaces view comes first. Customize it: hide panels, drag them around and resize them.
    • ImprovedWorkspace settings lists all your workspaces, from the account menu. Pick one to see its settings.
    • ImprovedYour plan belongs to your account now, not each workspace. Your account pays for the workspaces it owns, they share one storage pool, and Usage and billing shows each one's share. A free account has 3 workspaces; a paid one, unlimited.
    • ImprovedSaves, copies and other actions confirm with a short note in the corner.
    • ImprovedThe top bar reads like a path: your workspace, then the project and flow you're in.
    • ImprovedOrganizations are now called workspaces, everywhere.
    • ImprovedScreens upload straight to storage and load from it, so big exports go up as fast as your connection allows.
  5. v0.9.0

    Approvals for anyone

Whoever sends a round now names who approves it, and anyone signed in can be an approver.

    • NewSend for review asks who has to approve the round. Pick anyone with approval rights who can see the project, yourself included, so a freelancer can close a round on their own approval.
    • NewOnly the people named approve. Everyone else on the project can still comment. Change approvers in the review drawer replaces someone while the round is out.
    • NewApproval rights in Account → Organization lets an admin choose which roles can be named. Every signed-in role can until it's narrowed.
    • NewProject sign-off: an optional final approval once every flow is approved, turned on from a project's Edit page. Download project record gives one PDF with every round, its approvers and the project approvers.
    • NewApprove where you are: Approve flow on the flow's row and page, and Approve or Request changes on each screen, on hover or in review mode. Approved screens carry a coral check.
    • NewA project's settings say who reviews it and who approves it, for the people already there and anyone you add.
    • ImprovedA round closes as approved on its own once every approver has approved and every comment is resolved.
    • ImprovedGuests from a guest link comment. They no longer approve.
    • NewAdd a reviewer or an approver to a round from its review drawer: someone already here, or someone new.
    • ImprovedA closed round says who approved it and when, and its PDF record is made as it closes, ready to download from the flow page.
    • ImprovedRename a screen from the project page, and every rename field looks like the app's other fields.
  6. v0.8.0

    Log in with a code

Logging in now sends an 8-digit code to your email instead of a link.

    • NewEnter your email, then type the 8-digit code we email you. Pasting it logs you in straight away, and the code is in the email's subject so you can read it from a notification.
    • ImprovedCodes work once, expire after 15 minutes and stop after five wrong tries. Ask for a new one any time.
  7. v0.7.0

    The board

Turn a project's comments into cards your team can assign, date and move to Done, in step with the round.

    • NewBoard in the side rail opens any project's board, one tab per project.
    • NewApproved screens show as Ready, and projects with every flow approved move to a Ready for dev section on Projects.
    • NewFilter Projects by status and brand, and sort by name or recent activity.
    • ImprovedPrimary actions are Bugggy teal, and on a phone a project's actions fold into one Actions menu.
    • NewA board per project, turned on from its Edit page: Feedback, To do, Doing, Ready to check and Done. Every comment and request for changes gets a card.
    • NewMoving a card to Done resolves the comment, and resolving a comment moves its card. Sending a round moves fixed work to Ready to check.
    • NewAssign cards and give them due dates. Whoever you assign hears about it.
    • NewAdd, rename, reorder and delete columns. Cards drag on a computer and move from their menu on a phone.
    • NewOpen a card to see the screen, focused on its pin, beside everything about it: move it on, resolve it, give it a title, priority and labels, assign and date it, reply, and see its activity. Step through cards with the arrow keys.
  8. v0.6.0

    Deadlines, guests and notification settings

Flows can have a due date, reviewers get reminded, guests can review without an invite, and you choose how much email you get.

    • NewGive a flow a due date, next to its name or when you send it. Reviewers who haven't decided get a reminder the day before and once it's passed, and the design team hears when it's overdue.
    • NewPause a round while you fix something. Reviewers see it's paused, and comments, sign-off and reminders wait until you resume.
    • NewAccount → Notifications: review email as it happens, as one daily digest, or not at all, and how much of each project you hear about.
    • NewMute a comment thread from its menu. You still hear if someone names you.
    • NewGuest links: one person reviews one project after giving their name and email. Each link works once, guests show as guests, and they can never invite anyone.
    • NewAnyone an admin allows can upload screens, from Figma or the app, not just Design and PM.
    • NewLogin with Google or Microsoft, on servers that turn it on.
    • NewAccount → Usage and billing: a storage meter, your plan, and a full export of everything as one zip.
    • ImprovedComment pins are easier to tap on a phone.
    • ImprovedUploaded screens take about a third less storage, with every pixel exactly as exported.
    • ImprovedSend a flow, or the whole project, for review straight from the project page.
    • ImprovedReview mode sits on a soft stone background, under a charcoal header pinned to the top.
    • ImprovedDue dates change colour as they near, and turn red once they've passed.
    • ImprovedUploads pause, rather than fail part way, when an organization is out of storage.
  9. v0.5.0

    Organizations, status page and changelog

Bugggy is now organized around organizations, so a team's projects and people are its own. There's also a public status page and this changelog.

    • NewOrganizations own their projects, people, reviewer teams, custom roles and brands. Nothing in one organization can be seen from another.
    • NewAnyone can start an organization at /signup, with a 14 day trial of the paid plans and no card.
    • NewAccount → Organization shows your organization's people, projects and plan. Admins can rename it.
    • NewA public status page with live checks, 90 days of uptime history and incident updates.
    • NewThis changelog, with an RSS feed.
    • New/api/health for uptime monitors.
  10. v0.4.0

    Starter screens and custom roles

Pick the screen that stands for a project, and name reviewer roles the way your organization does.

    • NewChoose any screen as a project's starter screen, from the project header or the Make starter button on a tile. It shows on the Projects page and follows the screen from round to round.
    • NewCustom roles such as Legal counsel, set to sign off or not.
    • NewWhen a project has reviewers but nothing has been sent, Design sees who is waiting.
    • ImprovedEvery dropdown lists its options alphabetically.
    • FixedThe active flow's outline in a project's table of contents is no longer clipped.
  11. v0.3.0

    A smarter Figma plugin

Send what you've selected in Figma, however it's grouped, and start new flows without leaving the canvas.

    • NewSend selected images and groups, not only frames.
    • NewStart a new flow for a whole block of frames in one click.
    • ImprovedLoose frames that don't match an existing screen start a new flow by themselves.
    • ImprovedA rejected plugin token now says where to get a new one.
  12. v0.2.0

    The Bugggy design system

A new look across the app, built on Bugggy's own design system, and a layout that puts review first.

    • NewBugggy's own components and tokens throughout, in light and dark.
    • ImprovedReview comes first: Projects, Compare, Reviewers and Archive in the side rail, and Account as its own section.
    • ImprovedThe add-screens controls have clear hover and press states.
  13. v0.1.0

    Hello, Bugggy

Screen review for design teams and the people who sign their work off.

    • NewProjects, flows and versioned review rounds, with pinned comments on every screen.
    • NewSign-off by client, stakeholder and executive reviewers, with a PDF of each round for the record.
    • NewLogin with an emailed link. No passwords.
    • NewCompare any two rounds of a screen side by side, with changes highlighted.
